Fuzz Octaver
Der Foxx – Fuzz Octave von das Musikding. Ich habe meine Kiste nun liebevoll „Böse Mieze“ genannt 😉
Den Bausatz hat netterweise Bandkollege Carsten zusammengelötet und dabei auch kleine Modifikationen vorgenommen. Statt der Germanium-Dioden hat er sich für vorn für BAT 41 Schottky und hinten für 1N4001 entschieden. Seiner Meinung nach „knallen“ die noch besser und sind außerdem temperaturbeständiger (für sonstige Details bitte ihn direkt befragen 😉 ).
Für den preisgünstigen Einstieg in den Fuzz-Octave-Effekthimmel ist dieser Bausatz ein unschlagbares Ding. Besonders der Sustain ist auch ohne den Octaver eine fantastische Zerre.
Ich wollte unbedingt ein Pedal, mit dem ich in etwas kaputteren Bereichen experimentieren kann und das auch live den Bereich der Bariton-Gitarre hier und da gut ersetzen kann (wenn Carsten z.B. wie bei „Not the one“ zur selben Zeit soliert). Für Stoner-Rock-Sounds bestens geeignet und ich bin gespannt, was in Verbindung mit dem etwas zahmeren Glove-Pedal passiert, denn so ein paar Retro-Fuzzsounds wären auch nicht schlecht 😉 Außerdem ist das Teilchen hervorragend für die Einfach-nur-Geräusch-Fraktion.

My band buddy Carsten was friendly enough to put this whole thing together. He also did some modifications: Instead of the germanium diodes he put in some BAT 41 Schottky diodes and 1N4001 diodes. In his opinion, this modification makes the sound more „into the face“, the device is also more resistant to temperature variations (for more details, please send him a mail 😉 )
This is a really cheap and great way to get into the world of fuzz-octavers. Even without the octave function the sustain effect way is a fantastic distortion.
I absolutely wanted a pedal to start creating destructive sound spheres and I can also use it for some live sounds to reproduce some baritone guitar parts (especially in the solo parts of Carsten, you could listen to some of those parts in our song Not the one). You could also apply the pedal to create great stoner rock-sounds and I’m really looking forward what may happen if I combine it with the Glove from Electro Harmonix. And indeed it’s a real good one for some bloody noise effects.
